Mistake 1: Focusing on Pretty Over Purpose

Sure — you want your site to look luxe and high-end. But if your homepage is just a scrolling gallery of makeup photos with no clear copy or direction?

You’re losing them before they even know how to book you.

Your website should clearly answer:

• What you do
• Where you’re based
• Who you serve
• And how they can work with you

It should feel like a warm welcome — not a guessing game.

Fix it: Add a one-liner at the top of your homepage that says exactly who you help and what you do.
Example: “Bridal hair and makeup for modern romantics across Nottinghamshire & beyond.”

Mistake 2: Making Them Work Too Hard to Enquire

If your contact form is hidden in a dropdown menu… if there’s no obvious CTA on your homepage… or if you’re relying on a “DM me to book” approach?

You’re making it harder than it needs to be.

Brides are often planning during their lunch breaks, late at night, or in between dress fittings. If they don’t see a clear path to booking you? They’ll bounce off your site.

Fix it: Add a call-to-action on every page — especially your homepage, services page, and about page.
Example: “Ready to feel like you, but bridal? Tap below to enquire.”

Mistake 3: Writing for You, Not for Them

This one’s spicy, but I’ve got to say it:
Most bridal beauty sites sound like a resumé, not a vibe.

It’s not just about your 10 years of experience or your qualifications (though those are fab). It’s about how you make your brides feel.

Are they confident? Calm? Glamorous but still themselves?

Fix it: Re-read your copy and check: are you talking about you — or about how you help them?
Shift your “I” statements into “you” language wherever you can.
